Community Living Residential Supports
Ability and Choice Services' Community Living Residential Supports provide person-centered community living for people needing training, assistance and support towards living as independently as possible in their own residence. Ability supports personal choice including those of:
- type of residence chosen,
- the manner which it is selected, and
- the selection of their roommates
Ability's purpose in providing these supports is to empower and facilitate personal choice in promoting and facilitating independence. Ability provides assistance, training, incidental teaching, informed choice, and natural consequences with support for those consequences in helping persons obtain and maintain the skills necessary to live as independently as possible. Ability will support each person in participating in recreation activities they choose and Ability will promote exercising and better health. Support strategies will be developed from the person-centered planning process which brings all supports together as seamlessly as possible |
